Frequently Asked Questions

的 program is open to qualified high school students in the US and abroad currently in their sophomore, junior, or senior year. Pre-College students come from across the country and the world, from large cities and small towns, from public and private schools, from different backgrounds and with a wide range of interests and aspirations.

的 approved courses open to high school students are foundation-level courses offered through Skidmore's summer session for college students.

Residential students must enroll in two courses. Commuting students may enroll in 一到两道菜. Pre-College enroll in a maximum of two courses.

All courses carry full 火博体育大学 credit, generally transferable to any other college or university.

Pre-College students are required to attend all class sessions throughout the program. 的 scheduled class times cannot be changed for individual schedules. 如果一个学生 unable to fully attend their class on the scheduled days and times, the student will not be eligible to participate in the class or program. 

的 pace of summer study is quick and the projects, reading, and writing are at a college level, so it can be challenging. But, students find that enthusiastic instructors and peers and built-in support resources keep everything manageable. 

We group Pre-College students together in a private and secure residence hall. 你 will live in a single or double room sharing a common hall bathroom. A dedicated residence hall director and several resident assistants will also live in the building.

A meal plan is included in the residential 费用. It is not included in the commuter 费用. 

是的. Part of our program is about learning to balance academics and downtime for rest 和有趣的. 你'll have access to many of the benefits of a college campus in addition to off-campus trips and activities planned by staff. 

是的. Members of Skidmore's 招生 staff will host a specialized session on choosing a college, applying to college, writing an admissions essay, and more.
