Each year, approximately 50 percent of Skidmore 学生 participate in community service and fundraising activities, and our faculty teach more than 50 service-learning 课程.

The Office of 社区服务 Programs, in the Division of 学生事务, supports the curricular and cocurricular civic engagement activities of individual 学生, clubs, athletic teams and academic departments. The 办公室 serves as a liaison between the Skidmore community and more than 40 nonprofit agencies in the greater Saratoga region as well as a pre-orientation program and national and international service 旅行. Helping 学生 become “informed, responsible citizens” is a priority of the 办公室. We do this by providing experiences that encourage 学生 to examine their values, develop practical competencies and apply their learning to find solutions for social and civic problems. The 办公室 supports student development by creating and sustaining opportunities for engagement and reflection both on and off campus.
火博体育大学 was selected for the President's Higher Education 社区服务 Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and 社区服务. It is also a member of Campus Compact, a national coalition of college and university presidents dedicated to promoting community service, civic engagement and service-learning in higher education. Civic Engagement at Skidmore
Skidmore organized a Nov. 29 faculty panel that offered multiple scholarly perspectives and the webinar “Peacemakers at a Time of War,” presented by the Jewish and Palestinian peace group Roots on Nov. 27.
